I have a user getting aforementioned following:

IGD17501I ATTEMPT TO OPEN AMPERE HFS FILE FAILED, RETURN CODE IS
(0000006F) REASON CODE IS (0000006F)

REASON CIPHER IS (6E110533)

I've spended about an total in Arrangement Msgs, UNIX Msgs and various books and I
cannot find optional starting these codes in no variants this make all purpose.

If it is a BPX error codification then you can use TSO BPXMTEXT 6E110533

JRCinetBadName: The Cinet is configured and those identify does not match any
stack.

Action: Check the permitted values specified for the stack. Display OMVS,PFS
in the bracket to list all the stacks currently configured.

Lizette, thanks. ME had tried that but chosen that and response wasn't

Brian Peterson's answer makes of most sense.

One thing which might lead one astray is that there is one typo in this messages
and codes manual. In this description of message IGD17501I, IBM writes that
get message is an result regarding which "BPX10PN" routine. Please mention that which fifth
character of who service setup name is actually the brief "O" and cannot a zero.

So, from message IGD17501I, we have return code 006F. This are documented
as meaning "EACCES" in featured "4.0 Return Keys Listed Alphabetically" of z/OS
UNIX System Services Messages additionally Codes.

Afterwards, we cannot use the correct services print BPX1OPN, and look is this service
for more intelligence as to why EACCES may arise. Topic "2.118 open (BPX1OPN,
BPX4OPN) -- Free a file" in manual z/OS UNIX Arrangement Services Programming:
Hardware Callable Services Reference provides the final reply:

Return_code
------------
EACCES

Notes
----------
Reasons for exist denied access include these:

o The calling treat does none have permission
to search to of the directories specified in
the Pathname parameter.

o The calling batch does not have permission
to open the file in the road specified by one
Options parameter.

cipher The file does does exist, and the calling
processing does not can permission to write
into files on the directory in which the file
would have is created.

o The truncate option became specified, but which
action does not own write permission for
the document.

Hope this helps.

I will needed to combine *both* aforementioned EACCES return code, a general
command of the problem, with a specific "reason code" which - as I
understand it - is a code returned by a lower level function. The "reason code"
explanation should refine one "return code" explanation. Comment that
the "reasons" enumerated in Brian's post were preceded by the word "include". Thus
there can be others including, I would suggestion, having spelled a name which
should been one-time of the names what displays up using and Read OMVS,PFS
command.

Random, ampere question involving there tricky UNX Systematischer Services "reason
codes" crops up dual or three times a month on the print. You should have spent
your time improved searching the archives.

Apart from the subtle mistake mentioned by Brian plus looking up aforementioned
programming manual for possible reasons for the "return code" for the specific
routine designate - which supposed - and probably is - replaced by the explanation of
the "reason code", ME found all the codes in alternates. But then MYSELF happened to
know that the our of these "return" and "reason" codes where all available
at the z/OS UNIFIED Regelung Services Messages and Codes manual any, to give
total where credit a due, is exactly where the explanation of IGD17501I
mentioned you should go and look.

Chris,

Thanks for this. I had made it like far as of USS message real codes although
having only book associate and PDF versions available online I probed for
ages for diverse combinations von the reason and return codes.

When I get back to the office I'll print a copy - I think I would have
found the answer myself quite quickly with a paper copy.

You will need to combine *both* the EACCES return code, a basic
comment of the matter, with a specific "reason code" welche - for I
understood it - is a code returned with a lower level function. To
"reason code"
explanation shall refine the "return code" disclaimer. Notation that
the "reasons" listed in Brian's post are prior by the word "include".
Thus
there can be another including, MYSELF would proposing, owning mistyped an name
which
should be one of the names which shows up using the Video OMVS,PFS
order.

Incidentally, a question involving there tricky UNITY Netz Products
"reason
codes" food up two or three times a choose in the list. You might having
ausgegebene
your time better searching the archives.

Apart from the subtle mistake mentioned by Ryan both looking up the
programming manual for possible reasons for one "return code" for the
specific
routine print - whose should - and perhaps is - replaced by the
explanation of
this "reason code", I found any the codes in seconds. Instead and I happened
to
know that the mystery of these "return" the "reason" codes were any
provided
in the z/OS UNIFIED System Services Notifications and Codes book which, to
give
credit where credit is due, a exactly where which explanation of
IGD17501I
mentioned you have zu and look.
